Contemporary Realism
My paintings are so realistic because I was struck by the beauty I saw. Then I just have to portray that, and come very close to it. But is that not just copying? You would think! More about that in my blog and my book.

I often make an under-painting, with alkyd for big paintings, and tempera for small ones. Sometimes I go a long way with tempera. Then I continue with oil. When I do plein-air work, I finish it in my studio.
